My Awesome August

Today is the 1st of August.
The turn over of the month gave me special vibes.
I do not know why...

Maybe because it's my birth month...
Maybe because I will be home on the 7th...
Maybe because I am starting to get hold as to where I am right now...
Maybe because I am starting to see my purpose...
Maybe because I have been spending my time productively...
Maybe because I have been growing spiritually...
Maybe because I found new and special people whom I can be friends with...

I do not really know. But I am glad to be filled with good vibes this rainy season. I hope that it will flow throughout the year...

and grows even better throughout my lifetime.

It is past my bedtime and I am still up because a song gave me so much feels tonight. At this moment, one song is on repeat for 30 minutes now. This song brought me back to the day when me and my friend, Han, watched the Wicked in CCP. Oh! That is one great day in the Emerald City.

Our faces after the stunning Defying Gravity

Here's my Lullaby (c/o Youtube of course)
Defying Gravity
by Idina Menzel

Every line is so special you can feel its strength every time.
I hope this will inspire you as much as it inspired me.

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
I'm through with playing by the rules
Of someone else's game
Too late for second-guessing
Too late to go back to sleep
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes and leap!

If my life would be a movie/series, this will be the soundtrack of the latest scene or episode. Every word fits! This song also inspired my #MyAwesomeAugust hashtag and mantra. I hope to see the best of my life!

Soaring high and defying gravity,
Wickedly inspired S.

My World's #1

Mother.
Mommy.
Mama.
Nanay.

Today is a special day for all those brave women who chose and joyfully embraced motherhood. I cannot really grasp the deepest idea/sense of it but I know one thing: I am lucky to have a Mama as strong and as kindhearted as you. I would never trade you for anything or anyone in this world.

We have been through a lot. I mean A LOT. We were together during the highest and the lowest points of our lives. We survived. We moved on. We became each other's greatest treasure, greatest enemy, and greatest friend.

We dream. We laugh. We argue. We forgive. We accept.
We conquer. We sacrifice. We help. We guide.
We plan. We support. We influence.
We give. We study. We bake.
We love.

We have our own set of imperfections but we dealt with it.
Thank you for teaching (by showing) me how to be true to oneself.
Thank you for bearing me for 9 months and for doing everything to give me the chance to experience life.
Thank you for sacrificing a lot of things just to send me to a good school.
Thank you for the time you spared in guiding me with my lessons when I was still a child.
Thank you for giving me a wonderful home.
Thank you for inspiring me to dream.
Thank you for understanding that I really need to travel.
That you for your all out support in everything I do.
Thank you for always being there, ready to listen to my stories.
Thank you for the long phone conversations.
Thank you for teaching me how to be generous.
Thank you for the monthly cellphone load.
Thank you for going the extra mile just to let me know that your are always there.
Thank you for being you.
Thank you for all the love you gave, you give, and you will give.

To sum everything up, I will never be wherever I am today without you.
I will forever be grateful to have someone like you in my life.
I love you, Mama!

Forever malditang panganay,
Itchie

Friends for Keeps

I may not have everything in this world but I am very thankful to have the most wonderful, awesome, cool, and trustworthy few special people in my life. Aside from my family, I value my friends the most. I can give up my life for them because I am damn sure that they will do the same for me.

It has been a while since we got together. We may hang out in fb, bbm, or skype but it is always different to have each other as company in live action. I am very excited for the April 2014 adventure with you, girls.

To more bloopers and crazy talks...
To more beers and wine...
To more bikinis and beaches...
To more stressful planning and haggles...

May our friendship conquer the world like the internet did.

For true friendship,
S.

Hell Week

It's hell week.
Hell week is not just for students.
I am a teacher and it's one hell of a week.

Just sharing.

To do:
(1) Check reports
(2) Check reports
(3) Check reports
(4) Check exams
(5) Check exams
(6) Other admin work

I am so excited to end my 1st semester of teaching with a blast!
I hope that for the very first time I'll have a deserving student(s) whom I can give the precious 1.0.

*fingers crossed*

Seriously hoping,
Teacher S.
